Hawkeye Herman and Others Inducted into Iowa Blues Hall of Fame
On November 28, the 6th Annual Iowa Blues Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
was held at Blues On Grand, the Home of the IBHOF.
This year’s ceremony honored the 2004 IBHOF inductees - Ronnie Brewer
(AKA Ronald Moore), Tom “T-Bone” Giblin, Michael “Hawkeye” Herman,
and the late Ernest “Speck” Redd - for their significant musical contributions
through the years.
The Iowa Blues Hall of Fame Revue provided entertainment. Don “T-Bone”
Erickson (the coordinator of the ceremony) was also on hand to play some guitar.
Don shared emcee duties with Tom Gary, the founder of the IBHOF. Plaques
were presented followed by performances by the new inductees along with the IBHOF
Revue.
Note from Hawkeye HermanIt looks like I'll be joining the fun ... taking part in the (first annual) Delta Music Experience riverboat
cruise March 18 - 21 from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, along with Honeyboy Edwards, Kenny Neal
and the Neal Family, Henry Butler, John Weston, and Dick Waterman. So, if you can't make the Blues Cruise (www.bluescruise.com) from Jan. 22-29 to Tortola, St. Maarten,
and Nassua ... maybe a blues cruise on the Mississippi River sounds inviting. Cheers, Hawkeye www.HawkeyeHerman.com P.S. Blues Cruise on Jan. 22-29th. I'll perform, do some acoustic guitar workshops/ jams, and I am
hoping to facilitate a workshop on Blues in the Schools for anyone interested.
