The Joe Moss Band Electrifies Big Cities Crowd

 Rockford’s Winter Rocks Blues Walk Weekend featured a number of blues artists around town.  The top act of the weekend was certainly on Saturday night February 5^th at Big Cities Lounge where Nino brought in the Joe Moss Band to wow blues fans.

 Moss is truly a superb guitar player who performs histrionics on his Gibson.  His newest CD is reviewed later in this newsletter.  Joe’s back up band were equally superb this night.  Drumsticks were flying (sometimes literally across the stage) while Rick King laid down the beat.  Dave Christiansen on keyboard was equally impressive- he magically fingered the keys as he and Moss traded solos back and forth. They have a great blues-soul sound and put on a great show. 

Those in attendance got a real treat to see and hear a great Chicago blues artist up close and personally at Big Cities Lounge for a very reasonable cover.  Our thanks go out to Nino at Big Cities for bringing this fine talent to Rockford!
