Corky Siegel and Jim Schwall have been making music together for forty years for one lone reason- it is fun for them.  This is a wonderful CD and you can tell the guys had fun creating it.  Joining them in their fun on this new album is Rollo Radford on bass and vocals, Sam Lay on drums and vocals and special guest Marcy Levy on background vocals.  All of the songs on the album are new compositions by one or more of the artists on the CD and  it is the first release of new studio material from them in over thirty years!

“Underqualified Blues” is one of my favorites from the effort. It’s a little blues song with Jim lamenting that he’s unemployed and underqualified to get most any job, so he’s decided he must have to be President.  “Rumors of Long Tall Sally” has Sam on lead vocals, with Jim, Corky and Rollo taking part in the fun.  It’s got a driving beat and some good guitar and harmonica licks throughout it.  The closing tune, “Stormy Weather Love,” showcases Sam again doing some fine slow blues with the band in full support.  From the opening song “Afraid of Love” to the last, you won’t find a song that will not appeal to the true blues fan, especially those blues lovers who enjoy Corky and Jim.  They are a talented pair with a superb band.  They write some light-hearted yet meaningful lyrics and put together some groovin’ tunes.  I ordered this one before it was released, betting that it would be a good one and I was not disappointed.  This is a great CD!
