Rockford Arts Council awards new funding for Blues in the Schools Programs!!!!
The Rockford Area Arts Council announced in December that our organization had been selected to receive grant money for the third year in a row. This new grant for 2005 is for $875, which is slightly lower than last year’s award. The Arts Council had over $53,000 in grant requests and a total of $23,000 to award to deserving agencies and programs. We wish to thank Susan Williams (Executive Director), Shelton Kay (Grants Vice President) and the members of the Arts Council Grants Review Committee for their continued support of our efforts to bring the story of Blues music into area schools for the education and enjoyment of thousands of area students. In addition, a big thank you to Mayor Doug Scott and our area legislators for the funds that make many area arts programs possible. In the near future the Crossroads Blues in the Schools Committee will begin to work out the details of plans for this year’s programs. Be watching for future updates on our progress!!! Thanks again, Rockford Arts Council! |
